Specialized, weekly training for players who want to hone their skills in a specific area. Your instructor will analyze and correct or sharpen your mechanics, one on one.

Group Lesson Package

Repetition,,,repetition,,,repetition in practice is key to becoming a better ballplayer! Our weekly group classes are designed for players who want to maximize their game, alongside friendly competition. Classes cover fundamentals as well as the mental and physical aspects of fielding, throwing, baserunning and hitting.

• 4 Group Lessons (once or twice a week)
• Instruction and drills in all aspects of the game
• For no extra cost every student will receive $10 in Batting Cage Tokens
Time: 60-75 minutes per lesson

Instructors

Rich Taylor, Head Instructor

One of the nation's premier youth pitching instructors, Rich Taylor, has been selected by MVP Arena to direct the Batter's Edge program. Rich is also a qualified hitting instructor!

Taylor, who resides in Morgan Hill, has over 30 years experience in coaching youth baseball and brings a wealth of knowledge. "I'm thrilled to be working for a facility and putting a program together that will benefit local players. There are a lot of qualified instructors throughout the San Jose area and we're just looking to play an integral part in helping as many kids as we can."

Taylor formerly coached at Pepperdine University for six seasons, scouted for the Chicago White Sox in Southern California and was the founder and original co-owner of the West Coast Baseball School. He has also written two pitching books, written articles for Collegiate Baseball Magazine and is the National Director of Instruction for the MVP Band arm strengthening program that was implemented by Little League on a national basis.

MVP Arena will offer Taylor's expertise through our instruction packages listed above as well as through camps and clinics. "I've come to realize after all these years that parents don't care how much you know or who you know, but do you care about their child," explained Taylor. "Besides improving their skills, we're trying to care about every kid who comes through the door and help their character and self esteem. That exemplifies what I'm all about." And this is what The Batter's Edge program is all about!!

"We're not going to come up with magical methodologies or new found ways to teach the fundamentals," said Taylor, adding "That's already been done. We're just going to impress on everyone that we care about, every individual regardless of their talent."
