Welcome to the homepage of Batter's Edge Softball Training. Our program is dedicated to the advancement of our local players in women’s and girl’s Fast-pitch Softball. Our team of instructors offer clinics, camps and individual lessons year round and have spent multiple years playing softball, attaining extensive knowledge in: pitching, slap hitting, power hitting, base running and defense. We cover all aspects of the game with pride!

Individual Lesson

Increase your proficiency in the basic fundamentals and mechanics of hitting or pitching in a one hour comprehensive evaluation and training session.

• 1 Private Lesson
• Emphasis on hitting (slap or power), pitching or catching.

Individual Lesson Package

Specialized, weekly training for players who want to hone their skills in a specific area. Your instructor will analyze and correct or sharpen your mechanics, one on one.

• 4 Private Lessons
• Emphasis on hitting, pitching, catching or infield defense
• For no extra cost every student will receive $20 in Batting Cage Tokens
Time: 60 minutes per lesson

Group Lesson Package

Repetition,,,repetition,,,repetition in practice is key to becoming a better ballplayer! Our weekly group classes are designed for players who want to maximize their game, alongside friendly competition. Classes cover fundamentals as well as the mental and physical aspects of fielding, throwing, baserunning and hitting.

• 4 Group Lessons (once or twice a week)
• Instruction and drills in all aspects of the game
• For no extra cost every student will receive $15 in Batting Cage Tokens
Time: 90 minutes per lesson
Cost: $95 per student*

Instructors

Brittney Gutierrez, Hitting & Fielding Coach

•Born and raised in Milpitas, CA
•Played for North Valley Milpitas Bobby Sox from age 4-12
•Played for Bay Area Hurricanes from age 12-16
•4 year Varsity starter for Milpitas High School, 3 years as captain
•2 year Offensive MVP, 1st & 2nd Team All-League, Bill Bebout Award winner and Marine Corp Student Athlete winner
•Played for San Jose Strikkers (Gold) team that placed 20th nationally
•Attending North Dakota State University on a full ride scholarship (Made it to top 16 Super Regional Tournament)
•Switch hitter, proficient in power hitting from both sides and slap hitting from the left side. Also proficient in Outfield work and defensive fundamentals at all positions.


Angela Alvarez, Hitting Coach

•Born and raised in San Jose, CA
•Attended Oak Grove High school (three years varsity softball)
•Played on San Jose Strikkers and Lady Sharks travel teams
•Attended and played at San Jose City College
•2nd Team All Conference player
•Left handed hitter proficient in slapping, power-slapping and drag bunting
•Was apart of the SJCC 2007 Coast Conference Champions with a 22-0 season
•Ranked #3 in Norcal and played in the California Community College State Championships


Danielle Torralba, Pitching & Catching Coach

•Born and raised in San Jose, CA
•Attended Leigh High school
•Played on San Jose Lady Sharks travel team
•Attended and played at San Jose City College
•Left handed pitcher with plus fastball and off-speed pitches
•Starting pitcher for the 22-0, SJCC Chamionship Team of '07
•Ranked #3 in Norcal and played in the California Community College State Championships


Stephanie Barnes, Hitting Coach

•Born and raised in Santa Clara, CA
•Played in Santa Clara PAL League from 9 years of age
•Proficient in power hitting and infield defense
•2002 Santa Clara PAL, League MVP
•Attended Wilcox High school (three years varsity softball)
•2002 and 2003 CCS Participant, 2003 League Champion
•2005 Most Valuable Offensive Player
•2005 Wilcox High School Female Athlete of the Year (Alice Bergna Award)
