This first-time event is a FREE block party honoring active military and veterans, and will feature live music, vendor booths, craft beers and food! Kicking off the day at 2pm is local country music favorite, Skeeter Creek, followed by national recording artist, Darryl Worley. This year's headliner is Army Veteran and current Army Reserve soldier, Craig Morgan! The singer and soldier, whose hits include "That's What I Love About Sunday", "Redneck Yacht Club", and "International Harvester" will close out the party that promises to be electrifying from start to finish!
When his musical career took off a couple decades back, Craig Morgan made the difficult decision to leave the military a little before he'd completed 20 years' service. In late July 2023, Morgan was performing at the Grand Ole Opry when he re-enlisted in the Army Reserve, bringing his two worlds together and making a public commitment to see his unfinished business through.
Darryl Worley visited Kuwait and Afghanistan during the Christmas season of 2002, and was inspired by the dedication and sacrifices of soldiers who put their lives on the line for their beliefs. Shortly after his return, he co-wrote "Have You Forgotten?" with Wynn Varble, practically demanding that America keep its focus in its battle against terrorists. The song spent seven weeks at #1 on the Billboard country single chart, one of only five titles to reign that long during the 21st century's first decade.
The Red, White and Brew Festival is brought to you by Innovation Partnership, Albany County and MVP Health Care and proudly sponsored by News Channel 13, Family Danz, Upstate Chevy Dealers, Big Country 104.9 and The Cat 100.9.
